Alpine Sunset

Whew -- looks like I'll be able to sync up this blog and G+ soon AND knock out my remaining Tahoe pictures this weekend. Woot! It's getting harder to keep track of what I've posted where. I wonder how other people manage it. No, seriously. I've looked at my images so many times that I'm not even sure if I've even posted it already - much less know where. Like for this picture, I actually scanned through my blog's entire 2011-12 entries. There's gotta be an easier way.


Anyway, gotta run. Tomorrow, you'll know why. :D

Travel: San Diego - Imperial Beach

Oh, man. When it rains, it pours. I am sifting through a ton of backlogged photos and videos and I'm not sure when/if I'll be able to get through it all without taking a break from everything. Here's a shot near and dear to my heart (but not the greatest shot ever). I've been to beaches from the French Riviera to Hawaii and, for some reason, I adore this beach. I don't know why it looks instagrammed though, but I assure you I did this entirely by ACR. Geez -- now that I look at it again, it even looks crooked (but I think I double checked it to see if it was level!).

Anyway, here's to editing both pictures and video...because that'll certainly be my life for the next 2 days straight.

Photography Tip: How to Shoot Silhouettes

To photograph a silhouette, the light source must first be behind the subject. To actually achieve the effect:

1. Press the shutter button halfway down to meter/expose/take a reading on the area behind the subject (here: the sky). 
2. Recompose to place the subject properly within the frame.
3. Press the shutter button all the way down to snap the picture.
